An extremely valuable session was held this week connecting opportunities for collaboration between WA businesses and researchers with Airbus global projects. It was organised by the WA Europe Business Association with Airbus; and supported by DefenceWest, WA State Government, WA Defence Review and QuantumTX. A large turnout and wonderful to see most of the QuantumTX SME Alumni in attendance.

Mary Jardine-Clarke, President of WAEBA;  β€œIt was our pleasure Martin Rowse, Scott White and Anne Combes we were very lucky to be able to combine a virtual and actual presence in Perth - which is COVID free. Thank you all for an outstanding presentation on Airbus capability and on the launch of Team Maier in Australia. Great to see our WA State Government prioritise space industry growth and investment into a talented Western Australia which has over 60 years space, remote operations/AI and robotics heritage to build on. Team Maier is a perfect fit on many levels to industry here and Airbus has established a solid foundation to work with. We look forward to welcoming Team Maier to WA again soon to grow our relationship with the whole of AIRBUS in WA.”

Minister for Innovation & ICT Hon Dave Kelly, MLA and Chief Scientist of WA Professor Peter Klinken both spoke about the strengths and opportunities for Western Australia in the space sector.  Airbus then explained the opportunity and process to participate. The session ended with an excellent update from Matt Moran from DefenceWest
